Goldie Co. started long before I ever planned on starting a bag company.

I started sewing because I was tired of buying gifts for the people I loved that felt like something anyone could buy. I wanted to give them something more thoughtful, something made just for them that they wouldn’t already have.

Eventually, I made a quilted duffle bag as a gift. Everyone loved it, so I shared it on social media. Suddenly, people weren’t just asking how I made it. They wanted to buy one.

And that’s where Goldie began.

Pretty quickly, I realized there was no way I could sew every bag myself. But I also didn’t want growing Goldie to mean losing the things I loved most about handmade pieces in the first place.

So I found a way to do both.

Today, Goldie bags are made in small batches by skilled artisans in India using 100% cotton and traditional hand block-printing techniques. The fabrics are printed by hand, and each bag is sewn with the same attention to detail I cared about when I was making them myself.

Because of the handmade process, you’ll notice small variations in the printing and fabric from bag to bag. No two Goldies are exactly alike. We also keep our quantities limited and release our bags in small drops, so each one still has that special, hard-to-find feeling that inspired me to start sewing in the first place.
